Five teachers. One standard.

Our piano teachers are personally trained, and kept current through ongoing seminars and professional development. Each brings their own musical loves to the lessons they give. Here is a little about each of them.

Susan Liew

Founder and Piano Teacher

Founder of Eastern Music School and a specialist in music pedagogy, with over 39 years of international experience as a teacher and examiner across Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.

In her words: "I honour and salute the magnificent composers of the Classical, Romantic and the Impressionistic eras. Not forgetting the famous Jazz composers too."

Josephine Singgih

Piano Teacher · "Miss Jojo"

In her words: "I am captivated by the Romantic period. I enjoy performing these repertoires as I can portray and express my feelings. One of my heroes is Frédéric François Chopin. I adore his master works, especially his famous nocturnes."

A little extra: Loves to play sport, especially soccer and basketball.

Hanna Chew

Piano Teacher · "Miss Hanna"

In her words: "I am most enchanted by the Romantic Era. I particularly enjoy producing the colourful elements such as playing cantabile and freely expressing the Tempo Rubato."

Jocelyn Singgih

Piano Teacher · "Miss Jocelyn"

In her words: "I find the Romantic and Modern eras most intriguing as I am able to express my emotions and imaginations through the beautiful sounds of the piano keys."

Alexandra Hollett

Piano Teacher · "Miss Alexandra"

In her words: "I am most drawn to the Romantic and the 20th Century eras. The broad dynamic range stirs one's emotional depths. The composition features elements that demand even more extraordinary skills from the performer."
