A school built around the piano, and around your child.
We do one thing, and we have done it for a long time: teach the piano well. Our students cover classical and jazz and all the styles in between, working from foundation through to advanced and diploma level across practical, theory and musicianship.
Our concept is simple. We keep expanding what a student is capable of, with teaching shaped to each individual learner. Our mission is to give every student a genuine, lasting experience of music by teaching to the highest standard we can, lesson after lesson.

Susan Liew founded Eastern Music School and specialises in music pedagogy. She brings over 39 years of international experience as a teacher and examiner, from Malaysia and Singapore to Australia.

An ABRSM exam centre, not just an exam tutor.
Eastern Music School is an exam centre for the ABRSM (the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), and we teach to the ABRSM examination syllabus across practical, theory and musicianship. Our teachers are personally trained and kept current through ongoing seminars and professional development.

Every Spring, our students perform.
Each Spring the school holds its Annual Concert at South Perth Community Hall. It is the moment a year of practice turns into a performance, in front of family and friends.
