An ABRSM exam centre in Ardross.
Eastern Music School is an exam centre for the ABRSM, the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. We teach to the ABRSM examination syllabus, and our students sit their exams within a school that knows the syllabus inside out.
What that means for a student.
- We teach the ABRSM syllabus across practical, theory and musicianship, so exam preparation is built into regular lessons rather than bolted on.
- As an exam centre, the school is part of the ABRSM's long-running presence in WA.
- Teachers are kept current. Our piano teachers are personally trained and supported with ongoing seminars and professional development workshops.
From two former WA Representatives of the ABRSM.
"Susan Liew's Eastern Music School offers quality one to one music tuition to students. The School has had a long and successful relationship with ABRSM in WA. The quality of teaching is reflected year after year through the students' performance in practical and theory exams."
"Eastern Music School continues after many years to serve music education in Perth. The teaching is outstanding, enjoyable and they produce excellent results."
Grades are one path, not the only one.
Exams are one path, not the only one. The school also runs masterclasses, a performers' workshop, an instructors' training course and a piano arrangement workshop, and students can work all the way to diploma level.
Some families want grades and certificates; others simply want their child to play well and love it. We teach for both.
To confirm with the school: any real exam results the school is comfortable publishing, such as distinctions or grades achieved. No figure is invented in this mockup.

Come in, play, and talk it through with a teacher. There is no obligation to sit an exam, and no rush.
